Mzansi Wethu Presents Man & The Mic This December
This December, Mzansi Wethu hands the mic to some of the South African male artists in a brand-new show titled – Man & The Mic premieres Sunday, 14 December at 18:00, inviting audiences to witness an intimate celebration of resilience, artistry and healing through music.
Man & The Mic is a soul-baring voyage where music becomes the language of vulnerability and strength. It’s format that blends diary-like revelations, heartfelt conversations with family and friends, and studio performances that crystallize the moment a song becomes a lifeline. Each episode spotlights a South Africa’s top male singers as they lay bare the trials, tribulations, failures, pain and most vividly, the triumphs that have forged their sound.
Every artist takes centre stage with a signature moment: a full track, a stripped-down verse, or a transformative mashup that mirrors their truth. These performances offer a rare window into the person behind the artist – the hunger and hustle of beginnings, the intricate layers of identity, the masks we wear, and the moments that turn struggle into song.
Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, puts it best: “Man & The Mic is where honesty meets resonance. It’s a celebration of courage expressed in notes, stories and the shared humanity that music invites for us to feel together.”
Featuring a lineup that brings distinctive voices and unmatched storytelling, including Kuli Chana, Donald, Zwai Bala, and Kwesta, each artist brings a unique testimony to the stage. Expect performances that push boundaries, moments of reflection and connections that echo long after the lights fade.
Tune in to Man & The Mic on Mzansi Wethu, DStv Channel 163, and let every beat tell a story. Don’t just watch it…feel it, live it, and celebrate the power of music to heal and unite.
